Birch Essential Mattress
Birch Essential: The Organic Latex Hybrid for Sleepers Who Want Support, Not Sink
If you wake up feeling like you’ve sunk into your mattress, or you’re looking for a natural bed that doesn’t cost as much as a luxury model, the Birch Essential is worth a close look. It has organic latex over individually wrapped steel coils. That gives you a firm, responsive surface, and it keeps polyurethane foam out of your bedroom.
Cloud Mattress carries the Birch Essential in our Smyrna showroom, a short drive from Nashville and Murfreesboro. We stock it so you can feel the support yourself before you decide, and our team will tell you honestly whether it suits your body and sleep position.
What makes the Essential different
✔ Responsive Organic Latex: GOLS-certified organic latex pushes back gently, relieves pressure, and helps keep your spine aligned.
✔ Wrapped Coils That Keep Movement to Yourself: Each steel coil moves on its own, so your partner’s tossing and turning is less likely to wake you.
✔ A Cover Made from Organic Cotton: A matelassé weave, free from unnatural dyes, that breathes and wicks moisture.
✔ Little Sink, Lots of Lift: It has more pushback than a typical medium mattress, which many back and stomach sleepers prefer.
✔ Foam-Free Where It Matters: No polyurethane foam, no fiberglass, no formaldehyde, no pesticides.
✔ Built for the Long Haul: Latex and steel coils hold their shape, backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
✔ Birch Quality at a More Accessible Price: Birch says the Essential delivers the comfort and support of its Birch Natural at a lower price.
✔ Optional EcoCool Layer: Ask us about the cooling upgrade if you run warm at night.
What’s inside
- Organic cotton cover: 100% organic cotton in a matelassé weave.
- Organic latex comfort layer: GOLS-certified organic latex for pressure relief and bounce.
- Individually wrapped steel coil core: For support, durability, and motion isolation.
- Total height: 9 inches.
Is it right for you?
The Essential is a medium-firm hybrid with a responsive, lively feel. It suits back sleepers, stomach sleepers, combination sleepers, and anyone who wants support with little sink. If you want a plush, cushioned, hug-you-in feel, we’d steer you to the Birch Luxe or Birch Elite instead. Available in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. It needs a modern foundation or platform base, not an old box spring.
Certifications and safety
- GOLS Certified Organic latex
- GREENGUARD Gold certified materials for low chemical emissions
